Showtime’s Homeland is slated to return to television in just a couple of months, and today showrunner Alex Gansa is revealing lots of interesting new details about season 4.
Viewers know that the Homeland season 3 finale saw Brody finally bite the metaphorical bullet. His death was long overdue – the show needed to end the storyline between him and Carrie before the reality of it was stretched too thin.
Homeland season 4 will be a reboot of sorts with Carrie now working overseas. “For the first time” we’ll see Carrie doing the job she was trained for, says Gansa in a lengthy interview with EW. “We’re going to see what an intelligence officer does on the ground. How she recruits assets, how she deals with the foreign government and her country team — the people she works with in the embassy — and the host country’s intelligence services. That is a complicated and murky world, one that we hope is filled with intrigue and drama and adventure.”
